KING CRUISER

Site Orientation

The King Cruiser wreck lies on the sea floor at 33 metres. Safe penetration of the wreck is available at its passenger deck around 18 metres. Other kinds of penetration (usually deeper than 18 metres) requires the diver to be specialised in wreck diving. Downside: expect to see a lot of divers.

SHARK POINT

Site Orientation

Shark Point has 3 dive sites: Shark Point 1, 2 and 3 respectively. As this dive site is in the open sea, current conditions may not be favourable for divers with little experience. Shark Point 1 and 2 are popular all year round, while Shark Point 3 is usually avoided due to stronger (and sometimes dangerous) currents.

ANEMONE REEF

Site Orientation

The reef gets its name from all the anemones growing on it. There are 3 pinnacles with very nice swim throughs, and it is also believed to be the cause of King Cruiser wreck, but there are no serious damages to the reef whatsoever. The best parts of the reef are usually shallower between 6 to 15 metres.

KOH DOC MAI

Site Orientation

Koh Doc Mai makes for a good wall and drift dive for experienced divers. The island is situated in a rather awkard position so there are currents crossing on either side, constantly stirring up bottom sands and sediments, and therefore visibility is not as good as the other dive sites. There is a little cave to explore and marine life on the shallower depth tend to be more interesting.

Distance

7 nautical miles

Boat Trip

60 minutes from Chalong in Phuket

Depth

6 to 20 metres

Current Conditions

Can be strong

Water Visibility

5 - 20 metres

Marine Life

A mixture of soft and hard corals, reef fishes and eels are plenty. Occasionally schools of jackfish and barracudas are seen. Turtles and blue-spotted stingrays are also common here. Look close to the wall to observe smaller creatures such as seahorses, colourful sea slugs, and the biggest bandit sea snake is seen here.
